Dear Central Church,

One of the great hymns of our faith has been echoing in my heart this week—“Blessed Assurance.” I’m especially drawn to that beautiful line in the third verse: “Perfect submission, all is at rest.”

What a powerful truth for us today. In a world filled with noise, conflict, and uncertainty, real rest is hard to find. Yet the hymn reminds us that when our lives are perfectly surrendered to Jesus, our hearts can be at rest—even when everything around us feels chaotic.

This is the heartbeat of our current sermon series on the book of Revelation. We are learning together that rest is not found in escaping the world’s troubles but in entrusting ourselves completely to the One who reigns over it all. Because our ultimate hope is secure in Christ, we can live with peace, courage, and confidence today.

Pastor Jonathan Acre leads our Young Adult Ministry and will be preaching this Sunday, inviting us to consider what it looks like to be “marked by the Lamb” from Revelation 14. He’s a dynamic communicator of God’s Word, and you will not want to miss what God has put on his heart.

May we continue to live as people who know that “Jesus is mine,” and in that blessed assurance, find true rest for our souls.

A Word of Appreciation:
On behalf of our entire pastoral team, I also want to express our deep gratitude for your generous love offering during Pastor Appreciation Month. We are truly humbled and thankful for your kindness. God has blessed Central with an incredible group of pastors and a church family that loves and supports them well. It is a joy and privilege to serve alongside you.

Our life together reminds me of Paul’s words to the church in Philippi:

“In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:4–6)

It is a joy to partner with you to see our mission of making Christlike disciples accomplished in our community and for our community.

With love and gratitude,
Pastor Mark
