Dear Central Church,

We are now walking through the season of Lent — a season that invites us to slow down, examine our hearts, and fix our eyes on Jesus. In our “Your Kingdom Come” series, we’ve been praying the Lord’s Prayer together and allowing it to shape us. This prayer teaches us how to live faithfully in the tension of the “already” and the “not yet.”

Because of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection, the Kingdom has already broken into our world. Yet we still pray, “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven,” because we long to see more of His reign — in our lives, our homes, our church, and our community.

As we journey toward Easter in this season, we remember that the resurrection is the ultimate declaration that God is redeeming the world and that His Kingdom will come in fullness.

This week, I’ll be traveling to Ecuador with our missions team to serve alongside the Nazarene church in Santa Clara. This congregation has an incredible outreach through a community soccer club where children not only learn the game but also grow in their faith. Our team will be helping construct a soccer field to support this ministry.

Please pray for our safety in travel and work. Pray that our partnership with our brothers and sisters in Santa Clara would be strengthened. And pray that this field becomes holy ground — a place where children encounter both the joy of the game and the love of Christ.

This Sunday, Pastor Raymond Moore will be preaching as we continue our series on the Lord’s Prayer. Raymond is a gifted pastor who faithfully serves in many roles here at Central Church, and we are blessed by his leadership. He will be preaching on “Hallowed Be Your Name,” and I know the Lord has given him a timely word for us.

Come this Sunday expecting great things from God. Let’s gather with hearts ready to worship, to listen, and to pray, “Your Kingdom come.”

Until He’s Finished,
Pastor Mark
