Pastor Bethany Tibbs shares some reflections about kids ministry and the importance of our Bunny Hop event this Saturday…

Dear Central Church,

This Saturday marks our third annual Bunny Hop event. This event began as a dream from our Kids Ministry team, who wanted to create something for our community during the Easter season. With limited green space and many churches around us hosting traditional Easter egg hunts, the team wanted to do something different. That’s how Bunny Hop was formed.

Our dream was to create an opportunity for people in our community to interact with the church in a fun and welcoming way—and Bunny Hop does just that. We get to have conversations, play, and laugh together with people we might not otherwise meet.
This kind of connection matters. Jesus modeled it when He attended the wedding at Cana. He didn’t just teach from a distance—He showed up, spent time with people, and was present in their lives. In the same way, Bunny Hop gives us the opportunity to simply be present with our community.

I remember last year a family pulled into our parking lot because they were looking for a birthday party they had been invited to. They saw the inflatables and assumed it was here. When we explained what was happening, they chose to come back after they found the party.

I hope you are planning to come to Bunny Hop this Saturday. Whether you come to serve, invite a friend, or simply be present, you are part of creating a space where people can experience joy, connection, and the love of Jesus in a tangible way—living out our core value of life-giving community and participating in the mission of Central Church to make Christ-like disciples in our community for our community.
