Dear Central Church,
Are you ready to party? Celebration Sundays at Central are my favorite! We are a people of life-giving community, and this Sunday we get to see all the ways God is at work among us. We have young people who are going to be baptized, families dedicating their new infants, and people joining our church. It’s going to be a party, and I hope you come ready to celebrate!
In addition to these spiritual milestones, we are celebrating all that God has done through the Our Turn Now campaign. We’ve been worshipping in the newly remodeled space now for about 3 months. This would not be possible without 224 Central families who were obedient to God and gave financially to support this project. This represents roughly 87% of our active congregation that wanted to be a part of this vision. This kind of unity only happens when God is at work!
Here are some more Our Turn Now things worth celebrating:
To date, we have received $1,178,000 of the $1,512,000 that was committed.
The remodel was completed $51,000 UNDER budget! The project budget was set at $1,700,000 and total expenses were $1,649,000. If you’ve ever remodeled anything, you know that being under budget is a miracle! In our case, God miraculously provided us with a great team to plan and manage the project. Join me in giving thanks to God for them!
We have the opportunity to complete the project debt free! Based on our commitment total, there is $334,000 left to be received. If these commitments are fulfilled between now and April 30, it will completely underwrite the project free of debt! Any time a church can complete a capital project almost equal to its annual budget and be debt free, that is nothing short of miraculous.
I’m praying Philippians 4:19 over the homestretch of this campaign: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” I would love to share with you at our next Celebration Sunday that we have completed the project debt free. As God provides, I believe we can do it!
