Dear Central Church,

This Sunday, we’ll conclude our “If God is For Us” sermon series. It’s been a journey of reflecting on all that the resurrection of Jesus means in our lives.

We’ll be looking at the ascension of Jesus in Acts 1. It’s a powerful moment as Jesus ascends into heaven as two angels ask an interesting question to the disciples, “Why do you stand here looking into the sky?” It’s their way of saying, “Hey, you’ve got work to do. There’s a mission to accomplish. Sharing this good news that ‘God is for us’ is too important to stand here looking into the sky. Now, Go!”

Fortunately, they don’t go on their own power. They go through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We, too, have this power. The Holy Spirit comes beside us and empowers us to accomplish the work he’s called us to do.

I invite you to think about places where you can share this good news with others. Where do you have influence? Where do you have existing relationships? Who in your life needs to know what God has done in your life? The Bible promises that if we are willing to step out in faith, the Holy Spirit will provide everything we need.

I’m thankful for his provision as we move forward as a church. He is providing everything we need. I’m thankful for leaders who are stepping up to give needed direction and oversight to our church. You recently elected the following to serve on our church board: Michael Arroyo, Sarah Armstrong, Eric Kesselring, and Adam Rhodes. Keep these leaders in prayer as they join with our leadership team to move our church forward into the mission God has for us.

I look forward to gathering with you Sunday as we proclaim and live out, “God is for us!” See you Sunday!

In Resurrection Hope,

Pastor Mark
