GROWING PEOPLE

At Central Church, who we are and what we do is seen through the lens of Growing People. We ourselves are people who are growing in life and faith, but we are also all about creating spaces where others can grow as well, no matter where you’re from and no matter where you find yourself now. Here are some stories of people who are part the Central family.

If you would like to submit a story to be shared here, visit the “Submit A Story” part of our website, which can be found under the “Growing People” tab at the top of the page.

Ellie

Ellie came to Central when she was 13 years old. She came by herself and didn’t know anyone. Then, through getting involved in the youth group and other ministries, she was able to create connections with people - she quickly became a vital part of the youth group and began to explore her faith in a safe space.

Ellie is now attending Trevecca Nazarene University and has recently accepted a call to ministry.

Jõao Carlos

Jõao Carlos began to attend Central when the services in Portuguese began about five years ago. He has found many great friendships and he loves that he can serve our community alongside people who he has made connections with here.

Jõao often serves in our Heaventrain KC ministry and is an important part of our Portuguese-speaking ministry.

Kelly and Clayton

Kelly and Clayton are a vital part of our church. They began attending Central a little over four years ago. They were looking for a place that had a strong youth ministry, as they were wanting to expand their family. Kelly and Clayton are strong and faithful leaders who lead one of our Young Adult Life Groups and they are an important part of our community.

Kelly and Clayton lead one of our Young Adult Life Groups and they continually invest in the lives of others in our church.

Cesia and Franklin

Cesia and Franklin are a couple who recently got married. They have attended Central Church for almost nine years. They love that they can share in community with people who are from the same culture as them. They’ve felt a lot of support both spiritually and personally.

Cesia and Franklin are part of the Hispanic ministry and are very involved.

Lori

Lori has been attending Central Church for 20 years. She loves Central because of the people and relationships her family has formed here. She has continued to grow as a parent and is grateful for the investment in her family from the church community. She also loves the community and outreach opportunities that Central takes part in. Lori also loves that at Central, her kids have learned that even at a young age, they can be Christ followers and serve others.

Carolina

Carolina has been part of Central Church for three years. She loves Central for being a living body, present and active in her life. Carolina is thankful for the organic community that can be found at Central; a community that welcomes you without judgment. She loves that the word of God is preached and is thankful for the living presence of God in the life of each person.

Carolina is an active part of our Portuguese-speaking ministry.
